This page highlights some of the events that CIKA's volunteers have organised during the last few years. We are very proud of our contribution to funding research at the Royal Children's Hospital and extremely grateful to the many indivduals and organisations that have helped to make this possible.

2008 Events

The 2008 ball, held on Saturday 16th August, raised $92,300. A report can be found by clicking here.

2009 Events
|
The 2009 Pooches in the Park Dog Show was once again held at the Flemington Neighbourhood House on Sunday 22nd March. It raised $2,824. Click here for more.

The 2009 Lab Day, held at the RCH on Sunday 31st May, provided an opportunity for our supporters to see for themselves the work that CIKA is funding thanks to their generosity. A short report appears in the July 2009 CIKA newsletter or click here for some photographs and a brief summary.

The 2009 Blue and Orange Ball was a great success thanks to the enormous amount of work put in by Cika President, Sandra Lehrer, and Vice president, Ellen Webb. Thank you Sandra and Ellen; you are awesome. A report and pictures can be seen by clicking here.

The first ever CIKA Art and Craft Show was held on Sunday 8 November at the Farnham Street Neighborhood Learning Centre, with ten stalls and a wide variety of merchandise. A report and pictures can be seen by clicking here.

2010 Events

Cycling Robe to Bendigo - November 2010. The Macedon Ranges Focus Group 550 km Robe-to-Bendigo bike ride raised over $2,000 and publicised the research funded by CIKA at the Royal Children's Hospital. For more click here.

Our first ever Market Night held on Friday 26 November was an overwhelming success, raising over $5,500.00 for research into childhood cancer. Click here for photographs and a report.

2011 Events
|
The Macarthur and District Lions Club heard a presentation from CIKA on the evening of January 26. They talked about funding research for children's cancer, after which they were presented with a cheque for $500. For more details and some pictures, please click here.

The Donvale Neighbourhood Charity Auction organised by Jenny Tselepi took place on Sunday 27 February and raised over $5,000. Click here for a report and photographs.

The 2011 Lab Day took place on Sunday June 19th. As has become the custom, it provided CIKA supporters with a glimpse of the research being undertaken by Denise Caruso and her team with the help of funding provided by their generosity. Click for a brief summary.

The 2011 Blue and Orange Ball proved once again that CIKA has a wonderful and generous band of supporters. Held at The Sebel Albert Park, it raised $107,000 on the night. Click here for more.

The sixteenth Old Time Wood Days, held on 12th and 13th November was, as always, a great event. The ever-popular calendar sold out even earlier than in previous years, raising $10,000 for CIKA while the two-day event delivered another $15,000. Click here for more.

Our second Christmas Market Night was held on Friday 18 November and surpassed the 2010 event by raising $7,484.45. Click here for more.

The Macedon Ranges Focus Group bike ride was repeated in 2011 when the riders raised $7,300 while travelling from Warrnambool to Ballarat between November 19 and 24. For a full report and some photographs, click here.

The second Donvale Neighbourhood Charity Auction was held on Sunday 26 February and again raised over $5,000 for CIKA. Click here for a report and photographs.
